Now my previous background seems lost for good. Pretty upset about this.
Show the Location Path of Current Wallpaper in Mac OS X
Does anyone happen to know how to get the file path to appear not in the middle but rather at the bottom of the desktop wallpaper? Obviously having the text appear in the middle of the image ruins it aesthetically; I imagine at the bottom would be a less intrusive compromise.

When I migrated my files from my old macbook to my new macbook air, this somehow got turned on by default and I had NO idea how to get rid of it!! Even when you shut down… path is still there. I copied and pasted the kill command he listed above and it apparently worked: defaults delete com. Could be in Documents folder or somewhere else on the hard drive, that is the whole point. If it was always in the same place, why would you need to look anywhere else? Name required. Mail will not be published required. All Rights Reserved. I do have to admit, though, that I really like the desktop picture set included in OS X Lion and I have yet to tire of them. In fact, after several months of using Mac OS X Lion, I still get a kick out of rotating my desktop background using the default Lion desktop pictures. You can see your desktop pictures called wallpapers on Windows systems in System Preferences, of course.
So where do you go to see the folder containing the actual JPG files? Thank-you so much!!! Thank-you for giving me a simple, straight-forward and uncomplicated answer that actually worked. This was quite helpful. Now I know where my Library is and how to get to it. You Sir, have a gift. Really the Mac community needs better help.
