The move is sure to please Office for Mac users who rely on Google Calendar to keep track of their schedules, and will sync Gmail messages and Google Contacts as well. The Office for Mac version The synchronization between Google Calendar and Outlook actually happens by connecting your Google account to Microsoft Cloud. It isn't as big a deal as it sounds—all it means is that copies of your mail, calendar appointments, and contacts are kept synced between Microsoft and Google. Add a location under the Event name. Add a note or attach a file. Choose a different calendar. To have Mail automatically add events to Calendar for you:. Select General. Select the Add invitations to Calendar automatically check box. You can always go in later and edit the events manually in Calendar. Move the mouse cursor over a date, time, or street address in an email. Wait for an outline to appear around the text and then select the dropdown arrow that appears. Modify the entry as needed in the pop-up screen and select Add to Calendar.
