Presently there is only one solution. You must create a separate partition on the hard drive to which you have to clone a May 4, PM. On some recent Macs, this is the only solution. Kappy has the best solution as usual. Partition the hard drive and install a previous version of OSX.
Snow Leopard would be the best version to install, but if you already have Leopard or even Tiger it will do the job although, the new iOS devices are not supported in Tiger. If you want to use Snow Leopard as your main OS, just remove all your data from the Lion partition to an external hard drive so that there is only the OS on there 6GB or so and create a large partition for Snow Leopard.
