Mac bare study or rubenesque

I am seriously on pins and needles wondering how this whole Presidential election is going to go down. It's so divided around here in the US of A, that some people are going to need some oxygen and smelling salts around to get through it.

Pro Longwear Paint Pot

To alleviate the anxiety, here is a nice, soothing photo of 5 of MAC's paint pots. They're round, inviting, and in all sorts of appealing colors and I'll dare to say that picking one of these to love best is harder than choosing which candidate to vote for. Take ye a little gander:. Now serious scholarly minds would ask, "Is this enough? Do you seriously want more Paint Pots? I covet more of them and check out www. After 5, like kids why more? You prime like no otha'. Seriously, one little swipe and I can build from sheer to opaque, they don't run, and shadows stick like sin.

Like a Nyx Jumbo Pencil Milk, don't be offended, I still love you they offer some serious shadow fixation, but aren't as thick, smooth easier, and don't melt in the heat on your eyelids. They last for freakin' ever. I've had Painterly since and it's still going strong. Those baby boomers. They sometimes come out with really cool ones like Otherworldly from the McQueen collection that I'll never own, sigh and there just aren't others like it. They're versatile. I recently purchased groundwork.. It's nice but it runs a bit grey which i'm not a big fan of..

Luckily none of them creased on me so that's a good thing.

Paintpots are described on the MAC website as highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based can be mixed with MAC shadows and liners. There are 9 permanent shades in four different finishes offered by MAC at the moment.

More colorful shades are often released in one of their never ending limited edition collections. Paintpots are usually used as bases, but the more pigmented ones can be worn by themselves as eyeshadows. When used as bases, paintpots can help to bring out the color in eyeshadows, giving them deeper and more vibrant appearance. For some, paintpots even take the the place of a primer.

I am not one of those people, my eyelids are neither too dry or too oily, but I still need a primer underneath this one. In fact, even with a primer, MAC paintpots will begin to crease and cake on my lids after about six to eight hours of wear.

I mostly use it as a primer, covered up with eyeshadow. Since it's creamier than Painterly, on my lid it tends to crease more easily if not set with a powder product.

MAC Unsung Heroes: Rubenesque Paint Pot

I get about 8 hours of wear with it. The third shade is Bare Study and it's a shade that looks gorgeous but it's a pain to work with. It is a nice bright, metallic champagne shade. First thing first: if you have oily lids like me or my friend C.

It's a very creamy shadow and it tends to slide off very, very easily. Second: it's not buildable. If you let the first layer dry and apply another layer, you end up with a cakey, chunky color. This also happens if you apply one layer on top of the other without letting the first layer dry. You'll get better results with Bare Study with only one layer.

It's still a great shade if you want just a wash of color to brighten up your eyes. Another favorite of mine and C. Rubenesque is a shimmery warm golden bronze shade. It has nice creamy texture, it applies easily and it's buildable in intensity. It has good coverage. I consider it a neutral shade since it's very delicate, even though it's distinctly orang-y gold.

While in the pot Indianwood may seem similar to Rubenesque, but don't be fooled, Indianwood is so much more browner and cooler toned than Rubenesque. It has a metallic finish and very good coverage. Pretty much it works similarly to Rubenesque.
