When you paste a formula, tap Paste Formulas. Tapping Paste Values Only pastes the result of the formula but not the actual formula—which is handy when you have a result that you no longer want to update. By default, cell addresses in formulas are relative cell references , meaning their row or column addresses can change when you copy formulas refer to. For situations where you want to preserve row or column positions, Numbers offers absolute cell references , which freeze cell addresses no matter where you copy formula cells.
To copy the text of a formula, double-tap an empty area of the formula bar and tap Select All in the pop-up menu.
Copying and Moving Formulas
To copy only part of the text, drag the blue drag points to encompass the characters that you want to copy. Tap Copy in the pop-up menu.
